During its development camp that runs Tuesday to July 17, the Wild will hold two scrimmages that will be free and open to the public at Xcel Energy Center — July 14 at 2:30 p.m. and July 17 at 5 p.m. Gate 1 will open 30 minutes before each.

Forty-four players are scheduled to attend, including recent first-round picks Alex Tuch, Joel Eriksson Ek and Luke Kunin and top prospects Sam Anas, Louis Belpedio and Jordan Greenway.

• Gophers tight end Brandon Lingen was named to the 2016 John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List. The award is given annually to most outstanding collegiate tight end. The junior from Wayzata High School caught 33 passes last season for 428 yards and three touchdowns.

• Taylor Ledwein of New Prague Golf Club won the Minnesota Junior Girls' State Championship by shooting a 1-over 73 for a 145 total at Chaska Town Course. Katherine Smith of Ironman Golf Club was a shot back, finishing with a 69.

• Andrew Israelson of Vintage Golf Club won the Junior Boys' State Championship with a closing 1-under 71 for a 138 total at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Willmar. Ben Sigel of Windsong Farm finished a shot back.

• The St. Paul Saints won Tuesday night's suspended game with the Joplin Blasters 4-3. That was the score when the game was halted after six innings by a midnight curfew. It had started at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, delayed three-plus hours by thunderstorms. The Saints took a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Aaron Gretz's sacrifice fly drove in the eventual winning run.
