Michael Pineda missed the past 19 games because of right elbow inflammation, but was activated from his rehab assignment today by the Twins and will start against the White Sox at Target Field (12:10 p.m., BSN).

Lance Lynn will be on the mound for Chicago. The righthander is 8-3 with a 2.02 ERA and is one of four former Twins pitchers (Liam Hendriks of the White Sox, Kyle Gibson of the Rangers, Ryan Pressly of the Astros) who are All-Stars this season.

Pineda (3-4, 3.70) made one four-inning rehab start in St. Paul.

Griffin Jax was optioned to the Saints. His was 1-1 with an 8.66 ERA in 17-plus innings for the Twins (five games).

Chicago won 4-1 on Tuesday night to even the series at one as the Twins wasted a strong effort from Jose Berrios. It's getaway day for the first-place White Sox, who are 14½ games ahead of the last place Twins in the American League Central.

Before the game, the Sox DFA'd outfielder Adam Eaton. A key player on Washington's World Series championship team two years ago, Eaton was hitting only .201 through 58 games. Adam Engel was activated to replace Eaton, who will go on waivers for 24 hours.

Twins third baseman Josh Donaldson (hamstring) is still out.
