Memphis' road streak reaches 18 games • NO. 2 MEMPHIS 72, SMU 55: Derrick Rose scored 19 points and Chris Douglas-Roberts 18, leading the Tigers (29-1, 15-0 Conference USA) past the Mustangs (9-19, 3-12), extending the Tigers' road winning streak to 18 games. Memphis finished unbeaten on the road for the first time since 1960-61, going 10-0. Rose finished 8-for-14 for the field and Douglas-Roberts went 9-for-18.

• NO. 4 TENNESSEE 89, FLORIDA 86: JaJuan Smith scored 23 points and Chris Lofton 21 as the visiting Volunteers (27-3, 13-2 SEC) overcame a 16-point deficit to beat the Gators (21-9, 8-7) and set a school record for victories.

• Perry Watson resigned as basketball coach at Detroit after 15 seasons, although he had been on an indefinite leave of absence since Jan. 7 for an undisclosed medical condition.

• John Wooden, 97, was up and about Wednesday and his medication was changed to alleviate an irregular heartbeat, six days after the former UCLA basketball coach Suffered a broken wrist and collarbone in a fall.
