About Schoop

Age: 27. Born Oct. 16, 1991, in Curacao, a Caribbean island in the Dutch kingdom.

The scoop: Pronounce his last name "Scope."

Young star: Was signed by the Orioles as a 16-year-old in 2008.

Major league debut: Sept. 25, 2013. He became the starting second baseman the next season at age 22.

Career year: In 2017, was an All-Star and hit .292 with 32 home runs with 105 RBI for the Orioles.

The fall: Traded to Milwaukee at the deadline last season, he slumped and was used sparingly in the Brewers' 10-game playoff run.

MLB numbers: 110 homers, 333 RBI, .258 batting average, .294 on-base percentage, .444 slugging percentage, .738 OPS.

Contract: Schoop made $8.5 million last season and signed a one-year deal for $7.5 million with the Twins, with incentives.
