Mark Craig: Excerpts from his Monday chat (filled with your purple rage)

Mark Craig: Excerpts from his Monday chat (filled with your purple rage) Cjw: I view Childress as a Denny Green type coach. Great at coaching, but lacking something on game days.

Mark Craig: I wouldn't say he's lacking. The Vikings have made steady progress under him. I think they can win with him. Like any coach, he's not perfect. I think sometimes he might be too controlling of the offense, but nobody was complaining when Favre threw only seven picks a year ago.

Dave: Do you think Favre would retire early if the Vikes lose next week? Is that ankle worse than we know about?

Mark Craig: His ankle is fine. All that talk about the ankle was to justify not showing up on time (and to get some more money, I suspect). You never know what Favre will do, but I feel safe in saying he would not end his career by retiring in the middle of a season because his team is losing. Right now, he needs some help at receiver, big time.

RS: Why run AD 6 times in a row? He's a beast, but still human.

Mark Craig: I can't argue with running Peterson in short yardage situations. With the passing game in shambles, give me AD and I'll live with the results.
