COLUMBUS, Ohio – Mark Contreras hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, giving the St. Paul Saints a 5-3 lead, and they went on to an 8-3 victory over the Columbus Clippers on Tuesday night at Huntington Park.

Both teams hit three home runs in the game, capped by Contreras' shot to right field.

BOXSCORE: Saints 8, Columbus 3

After the Clippers took a 2-0 lead on two solo homers, the Saints rallied, helped by homers from Jimmy Kerrigan to right-center in the third and Brent Rooker to right in the fourth.

Rooker's home run was his 11th of the season and second in as many games. He technically has homered in three consecutive games, but his home run from Sunday's postponed game won't become official until it's completed on Aug. 17.

Damek Tomscha capped the Saints' three-run seventh with a run-scoring double.

Three Saints relievers combined to pitch 3⅓ shutout innings.
