A man was found dead in a top-floor pool of a Minneapolis riverfront high-rise over the weekend, officials said Monday.

The man was found unresponsive about 10:20 p.m. Saturday in the 33rd-floor pool of the Churchill apartments at 111 Marquette Av. S., said Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Edgar Linares.

Paramedics and personnel from the Sheriff’s Office and the Minneapolis Fire Department responded, Linares said. The man was declared dead at the scene.

“It was reported that the person had been in the swimming pool for an unknown period of time,” a statement from Linares read.

Officials have yet to release the man’s identity, nor have they disclosed further details about what led up to his death.
