Officials identify man found shot to death on St. Paul street over weekend

No arrests have been made in the city’s eighth homicide of the year, police said.

Officials on Tuesday released the identity of the man who was shot to death over the weekend in St. Paul.

Police said the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Levon T. Washington, 26, of Minneapolis.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Edmund Avenue shortly before 4:15 a.m. Saturday about someone being shot, a police statement read. They found Washington in the street with gunshot wounds.

St. Paul fire paramedics took Washington to Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

As of Tuesday afternoon, no arrests had been made.

Investigators were asking anyone with information about the shooting to call 651-266-5650. Saturday’s homicide is the eighth this year in the city, according to a Star Tribune database.
