Playoff positions still at stake

Preview: There is still some drama as the regular season closes for both of these teams. The Lynx enter the game with a one-game lead over Los Angeles for the league's best record and the top seed that comes with it. Given that the Sparks hold the head-to-head tiebreaker, the Lynx need to finish ahead of the Sparks to claim that top seed. The Lynx can clinch the top spot with a victory, or with a loss if L.A. loses Sunday to Connecticut. The Mystics are clinging to a one-game lead over Phoenix for the fifth seed in the playoffs. A Washington loss and a Phoenix win Sunday would push the Mystics to sixth. The Lynx are coming off a record-breaking victory over Chicago, one in which they had a league-record 35 assists, a franchise-record 45 field goals made and shot 67.2 percent, the second-best in league history. Washington is coming off an overtime victory over Seattle that broke a three-game winning streak. The Lynx are 2-0 vs. Washington this season, but Mystics star Elena Delle Donne missed one of those two games.

Players to watch: Lynx C Sylvia Fowles is coming off a 12-for-13, 27-point, 12-rebound, five-assist game vs. Chicago on Friday. F Maya Moore had 20 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in that game and G Renee Montgomery had a season-high 21 points with five assists. Washington F Delle Donne went 6-for-9 on three-pointers, scoring 37 points vs. Seattle on Friday. She has averaged 30 points and 11.3 rebounds in her past three games. F Emma Meesseman is coming off a 27-point, eight-rebound game vs. Seattle.

Numbers: The Lynx became the only team in WNBA history to have five players with at least five assists in the same game vs. Chicago. Minnesota has scored more than 100 points in three consecutive home games. This will be the 17th and last game played in Xcel Energy Center for the Lynx, who will move to Williams Arena for the playoffs.

Injuries: Lynx G Lindsay Whalen (finger) is out. Washington G Tayler Hill (knee) is out. G Natasha Cloud (hip) is doubtful.
