Lynx-San Antonio game preview

August 28, 2012 at 6:26AM

Preview: The Lynx are starting a four-game homestand. They have faced San Antonio twice this season, splitting the series. The Lynx last saw the Silver Stars just before the five-week break, when a loss in San Antonio launched a three-game losing streak.

Lynx at a glance: Their winning streak reached six Saturday in Atlanta, putting their record at a WNBA-best 19-4. The Lynx had four players score in double digits, including 23 points from Seimone Augustus and 21 from Rebekkah Brunson. ... Candice Wiggins was honored Tuesday with the WNBA Community Cares Assist award for July.

Silver Stars at a glance: The Silver Stars (17-6) have clinched a playoff berth, but you can bet they are not satisfied with that. San Antonio is third in the West, within two games of the Lynx and a game behind Los Angeles. San Antonio plays the Lynx twice in their next five games, a stretch that will be meaningful.
