SEATTLE - The backcourt duo of Lindsay Whalen and Monica Wright combined for 24 first-half points, but they went quiet in the second half as the Seattle Storm rallied to beat the Lynx 79-76 on Wednesday night.

The Lynx (1-2) lost their second consecutive and their seventh in a row at KeyArena.

Whalen's layup gave the Lynx a 45-40 lead at halftime, but that was the last basket she scored. She wound up with 17 points. Wright (19 points) did not score in the final seven minutes of the game.

Swin Cash scored 24 points to lead a fourth-quarter surge for the Storm (2-0). Lauren Jackson and Camille Little had 18 points apiece.

"It was a hard-fought game," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. "We put ourselves in position to win the game. Obviously, they made some clutch baskets."

The Lynx led by as many as 11 in the first half and by nine in the second half.

Little hit a three-pointer to give the Storm a 73-70 lead with 2:10 remaining.

Whalen made two free throws to make it 73-72 before Cash responded with two free throws and an inside basket.
