Lynx sign Lindsay Whalen, Seimone Augustus to contract extensions

The two guards have led the team to three WNBA titles and the Lynx will be the No. 1 seed in this season's playoffs.

Guards Seimone Augustus and Lindsay Whalen, who have led the Lynx to three WNBA titles, got multi-year contract extensions from the Lynx on Thursday. Terms of the deals were not released.

The Lynx (26-6) are the top seed for the WNBA playoffs, and finish their regular season on Saturday night.

Augustus, in her 11th season, is a six-time All-Star and three-time Olympic gold medalist who holds team records for games and points scored.

Whalen, in her 13th WNBA season, is a five-time All-Star and two-time Olympic gold medalist. She is the first player in league history with 5,000 points, 2,000 assists and 1,500 rebounds.
