Lynx-Connecticut game preview
Undefeated Lynx will take on winless Sun
Preview: The Lynx are the WNBA's first 3-0 team while the Sun (0-2) is one of two WNBA teams yet to win. The Lynx needed Seimone Augustus' jumper with 4.3 seconds left to win in Dallas on Saturday. The Sun was the only opponent to beat the Lynx twice last season, winning twice at home before losing at Target Center on Sept. 4. The Lynx have won 20 consecutive games in May (5-0 in 2012, 6-0 in 2014, 6-0 in 2016 and 3-0 this year).
Players to watch: Lynx C Sylvia Fowles is tied for fourth in the league in scoring (21.7 points per game), fourth in rebounds (10.0) and tied for third in blocks (2.0). F Maya Moore is fifth in the league in assists (5.7), but is shooting a surprisingly low 29.8 percent from the field. Augustus is averaging 12.0 points and is shooting nearly 47 percent. Sun F Morgan Tuck leads the team in scoring (17.0) in her second season. G Jasmine Thomas scored 14 points in the season opener but missed Game 2 for her brother's wedding. C Jonquel Jones leads the league in rebounding (16.0).
Numbers: Three of the past seven meetings between the teams have gone into overtime. The Lynx trailed entering the fourth quarter at Dallas on Saturday; last season the Lynx were 2-3 in such games. This is the fourth consecutive year and the seventh in the past 10 that the Lynx have opened a season with three or more victories; in 2016 they set a league record by starting 13-0.
Injuries: The Lynx report no injuries. Sun F Alyssa Thomas (concussion) is doubtful.
