The starters were hot (shooting 56.1 percent from the field), the defense was stingy (the Liberty had five points the third quarter), and the reserves finished the game (combining for 28 points). ... Point guard Lindsay Whalen needs one assist to break her single-season team record of 184. ... Rebekkah Brunson needs 17 rebounds in the last two regular-season games to break her team record of 310.

Sky at a glance: Chicago (14-17) has not made the playoffs in its six years in the league. ... The Sky is 4-10 on the road this season, and guard Epiphanny Prince (14.5 points per game) is the only scoring threat besides Sylvia Fowles, a 6-6 center. Fowles is averaging 19.8 points and 10.2 rebounds. She is shooting .598 from the field and averaging a 2.1 blocks per game, both league bests. ...
