The Summer of Love has already begun.

Timberwolves star Kevin Love is in Boston this weekend, posing with Celtics fans for photos that found their way to Twitter on Saturday and apparently touring the city to learn what it might feel like to call home.

Love was spotted at Boston nightspots on Friday, had his photo taken Saturday with a very recent Harvard graduate on Boylston Street and reportedly is headed to Sunday's Red Sox game at Fenway Park.

Boston-based entertainment website Dirty Water News quoted Love as saying, "I'm here to just check out the city and see what it's like," when asked why he was in town.

When a Boston Globe reporter approached him Saturday afternoon at a Boston hotel, Love said, "I'm sorry man, I can't do nothing, I can't." He was referring to his inability or unwillingness to talk publicly about the purpose of his visit.

The Celtics are one of several teams that have both the assets and likely the urgency to trade for Love, whom the Wolves will trade if they don't believe he will re-sign with them when he can opt out of his current contract without compensation in July 2015.

To do so, though, Love would turn away an extra $26.5 million for an extra, fifth year on a contract extension that only the Wolves — or his current team — can offer him if he opts out of his four-year contract after three seasons.

The Celtics own the sixth and 17th overall picks in this month's draft, plus they have players such as young power forward Jared Sullinger, veteran forward Jeff Green and restricted free-agent guard Avery Bradley as well as five extra first-round picks due them between 2015 and 2018.

No word yet if Love's tour will take him to Cleveland, Chicago, the San Francisco Bay Area or points elsewhere.
