CaringBridge, Eagan, the nonprofit social network that allows people to share the health updates of their loved ones, announced that founding CEO Sona Mehring and the board have named Liwanag Ojala as the new CEO.

Ojala, who joined the organization as chief operating officer in 2014, officially steps into the CEO role on Feb. 1. Mehring will transition to the role of chief ambassador.

Silver Bay Realty Trust Corp., Minnetonka, announced that it has appointed its lead independent director, Thomas Brock, as the company's interim president and chief executive following the resignation of David Miller. Brock will continue to serve on the board of directors. The company also said that director Ronald Weiser will become the interim lead independent director. Silver Bay plans to search for a new CEO immediately.

U.S. Bancorp, Minneapolis, parent company of U.S. Bank, announced that Andrew Cecere, its vice chairman and chief operating officer, has been promoted to president. As president and COO, Cecere will have responsibility for consumer and small business banking, wholesale banking, commercial real estate, payment services and wealth management and securities services.

The Toro Co., Bloomington, announced that it has expanded its board of directors from nine to 10 and has appointed its president and chief operating officer, Richard Olson, to fill the seat.
