Clearfield Inc., Brooklyn Park, has elected Patrick Goepel to its board of directors. Goepel will serve on the audit and compensation committee. ­Goepel is the CEO of Asure Software in Austin, Texas.

Minnesota Chamber of Commerce, St. Paul, named Rick Trontvet as chair of its board of directors for 2015-16. Trontvet is vice president of administration and human resources at Digi-Key Electronics.

MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

Patterson Companies, Mendota Heights, has completed the previously announced sale of its medical business to Chicago-based Madison Dearborn Partners for $175 million in cash. Officials at Patterson said they intend to apply proceeds from the sale to reduce debt incurred with the June purchase of Animal Health International.
