Tonka Bay Equity Partners, Minnetonka, announced the sale of Checkers Industrial Safety Products to Audax Group, a private equity firm in Boston. Based in Broomfield, Colo., Checkers is a manufacturer of branded industrial products dedicated to vehicular and workplace safety.

Personnel

Dairyland Power Cooperative, La Crosse, Wis., a wholesale electricity supplier to municipal and co-op utilities in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa and Illinois., has hired Barbara Nick as its president and chief executive. She succeeds William Berg, who is retiring at the end of the year from Dairyland. Nick was most recently president of Minnesota Energy Resources Corp., Rosemount, the third-largest natural gas utility in Minnesota.
