MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS

Apogee Enterprises Inc., Bloomington, said that its Apogee Wausau Group Inc. subsidiary, doing business as Wausau Window and Wall Systems, has acquired the assets of Benchmark Sales Agency Inc., doing business as Custom Window Co. Inc., to expand Wausau's product offering and U.S. geographic reach. Terms were not disclosed. Custom Window, Englewood, Colo., a manufacturer of aluminum window products, has annual revenue of about $10 million and more than 100 employees.

NEW BUSINESS

Ceridian Corp., Bloomington, has entered into a strategic alliance with WageWorks Inc., a provider of consumer-directed benefits such as pretax accounts for health, commuter and other employee benefits. Under the alliance, WageWorks will assume responsibility for the administration of all flexible spending accounts, health reimbursement arrangements, health savings accounts, commuter benefit accounts, and premium-only plans provided by Ceridian. In addition, as part of this alliance, Ceridian will soon offer through its sales organization WageWorks' health, commuter and other pretax employee benefit accounts to Ceridian employer clients.

PERFORMANCE

Cirrus Aircraft, Duluth, said it delivered 79 aircraft to customers worldwide in the second quarter, up 32 percent over the same period in 2012. The total 2013 first half shipments of 130 Cirrus aircraft marks the best half-year delivery performance since 2008. The latest industry shipment and billing figures were released Wednesday by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association.
