Winning the Big Ten regular season and conference tournaments helped the Gophers earn the No. 14 seed in the NCAA baseball tournament, which started Friday with double-elimination regionals at 16 sites around the country.

Minnesota opens tournament play against Canisius at 7 p.m. Friday.

If the Gophers win, they will play the winner of Friday afternoon's game between UCA and Gonzaga at 7 p.m. Saturday. If they lose, they'll play the loser of that game at 1 p.m.
