The state's glaring $6.2 billion deficit could force lawmakers to consider expanding Minnesota's 6.875 percent sales and use tax to raise money.

• Potential tax revenue for FY 2012-13: $639 million

SERVICES

• Potential tax revenue FY 2012-13: $5.4 billion (Most of this is business purchases of a long list of professional services, such as legal work and advertising.)
