Greetings from a very snowy Happy Valley.

Minneapolis Star Tribune Football Columnist Mark Craig (who will be known, from here on out, as MSTFC) was here, in this very press box, 10 years ago, when the Glen Mason-led Golden Gophers sent the Penn State program into a five-year funk with an upset victory.

And now, MSTFC Mark Craig is sitting here next to me in an otherwise deserted Beaver Stadium press box wondering if we'll be able to drive on out of here this evening. We're both staying in Pittsburgh tonight, but the weather doesn't look too good.

It's just above freezing right now, with a mixture of rain and snow. Supposed to go full snow later this afternoon.

Whoa. Glen Mason sighting. He's doing the game, apparently. It's a regional ABC game, but the Big Ten Network might be doing some gameday stuff. He just appeared in the press box. Guess he wanted to avoid the traffic, too.

They have a tarp on the field, the snow in piles up against the wall in one end zone. Can't imagine either team is going to have loads of success in the passing game today. We'll see who can tun the ball better today.

The cover of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review had a picture of Beaver Stadium covered in wet snow. Turns out this was the earliest recorded snowfall at Penn State, beating the previous mark by three days. Lucky us.

I'll get back to you later, at halftime.
