Lawson Software, which was acquired in July by Atlanta-based GGC Software Holdings for $2 billion, is back to buying with its acquisition of software firm Approva Corp. of Herndon, Va.

Terms of the acquisition, which closed Sept. 1, weren't disclosed, said St. Paul-based Lawson.

Privately-owned Approva's risk-management software is designed to warn corporations in advance of out-of-the-ordinary situations that could affect company performance. In addition to managing risk, the software is aimed at improving corporate governanance and regulation compliance.

The Approva functionality will be incorporated into the financial software offered by Lawson and its sister company Infor, Lawson said.
