Latta 3s carry Washington Mystics past Indiana Fever, 87-75

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Ivory Latta scored 21 of her 24 points in the second half and the Washington Mystics won their third road game to start the WNBA season with an 87-75 victory over Indiana Fever on Saturday night.

Latta's 25-foot 3-pointer gave the Mystics (4-2) the lead, 9-6, early in the first quarter and Washington never again trailed in the game. Indiana managed to tie the game at 33-33 in the second quarter. She hit six of her eight 3-point attempts. Washington made 10 of its 22 3-point tries.

Emma Meesseman added 15 points and Stefanie Dolson had 12 for the Mystics.

Briann January and Lynetta Kizer each scored 14 points to lead the Fever (3-5), who had won their last two games by double digits.

Shenise Johnson knocked down a 3 to cut the Washington lead to 79-73 with less than three minutes to play, but Latta answered with a pair of 3s to push the Mystics' lead back to 12 with 1:39 left.
