With our lot's odd pie shape, we needed a way to connect the house to the outlying spaces.
I sketched out a series of concrete pavers that appeared to float away from the main structure of the building and toward the larger side yard. They would create a path to the fire pit, as well as the badminton/lawn bowling and playground areas. Dustin Halverson, our landscape architect, agreed that this would be a good solution after a few minor adjustments.
After waiting a month after we laid our sod, Halverson and the landscaping crew returned to start the next phase. The pavers were laid out in the desired pattern and then flags were placed to mark the corners of each stone, so the sod could be cut away, allowing them to set the pavers flush to grade. The next day the crew would set the pavers into final position.
