Kmart store in Austin marked for closing

The Kmart store in Austin, Minn., will close this spring, parent Sears Holdings Corp. said, one of 21 U.S. Sears and Kmart stores the company added to its closing list Monday. That brings to 56 the number of stores that the owner of Sears and Kmart has said over the past year that it will close. About 1,000 jobs will be affected. Monday's announcement affects 13 Kmarts, four Sears stores in malls four smaller Sears locations, called Sears Essentials.
