SAN ANTONIO (AP) -- Kelsey Bone scored 17 points and made a go-ahead layup with 1.8 seconds left to give the Connecticut Sun a 73-72 win over San Antonio on Friday night to extend the Stars' losing streak to eight games.
Connecticut grabbed Sophia Young-Malcolm's air ball with 14 second left, dribbled to midcourt and called a timeout to set up a final play. Bone got the ball near the free throw line and beat her defender down the lane for a layup. Kayla McBride missed a 3-pointer from the corner at the buzzer.
Chelsea Gray added 14 points for Connecticut (14-18) and Jasmine Thomas had 10 points with eight assists.
McBride led San Antonio (7-24) with 17 points and Danielle Adams added 12.
It was Young-Malcolm's first home game since announcing that she will retire after the season. She has played her entire 10-year WNBA career in San Antonio and holds the franchise's scoring record.
