Just what the doctor ordered

Blowout win is just what Wolves needed

February 3, 2013 at 12:55PM

Well, that looked easy, didn't it?

The Wolves' biggest victory of the season was a start-to-finish, four-quarters affair in which every player on the team scored at least five points. About the only thing that put anything close to a damper on this one was an officiating crew determined to air out their whistles until the bitter end.

Still, there were a number of positives to come out of this one. Here are a few:

--Perhaps most encouraging was the play of Ricky Rubio, who continues to inch closer to full health. He attacked the basket from the beginning Saturday. And, with his improved leg strength, the flashiness quotient of his game is rising, too.

--With Rubio playing better and, presumably, more in the coming games, Adelman has settled into a nice guard rotation. I'll write more about this tomorrow.

--Dante Cunningham set a franchise single-game record by making nine consecutive shots. He was 9-for-9 for a team-high 18 points.

--A night after not getting a rebound, Andrei Kirilenko had six to go with 12 points and three assists.

--Here's an interesting note: When was the last time 23 players scored at least a point? Happened tonight.

--Lou Amundson point-a-minute man tonight. Go figure.

That's about all for tonight. Jerry will have Monday's game. Have a good rest of your weekend.
