Medical manufacturer Juno Inc. will spend about $6 million to purchase and renovate a former packaging plant in Anoka, company president David Novak said Tuesday.

The Anoka City Council expects to vote July 9 on an agreement to provide up to $149,000 in property tax abatements to Juno in the next 10 years to support the project, which involves a 112,000-square-foot building at 1220 Lund Blvd.

The Juno metal products business - which operates out of a Juno-owned building at 1040 Lund Blvd. - will join another division of Cretex to become a new company that will be run by Novak and will expand into the nearby 1220 Lund Blvd. location. Novak said the company would release more details later this month.
