Johnson Health Tech, a Taiwanese fitness equipment maker whose U.S. headquarters is in Cottage Grove, Wis., has acquired 2nd Wind Equipment.

Dick Enrico started 2nd Wind Equipment in 1992, renting and selling used fitness equipment. Today, the Eden Prairie company has 58 retail locations in 11 states, selling new and used equipment.

Johnson Health Tech manufactures Matrix, Vision and Horizon brand fitness equipment. With the acquisition of 2nd Wind, Johnson Health will have more than 200 retail locations around the world.

"We've had a strong partnership with Johnson Health Tech for nearly 20 years, and we're excited to officially join the group," said Enrico in the company's news release.

The companies said in the release that 2nd Wind will continue to operate as an independent business with its existing management team. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Johnson Health Tech's global headquarters are in Taichung, Taiwan. According to Thomson Reuters, the company's annual revenue was more than $500 million in U.S. dollars.
