Post time: 12:45 p.m.. Best bet: Secret of Success (3rd Race). Best play: 50 cent-Pick 4, Race 7, (1,2,3,4,5,6,8/3,4,7,8/1,5/3,4), $56.

1 300 Yards. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Maiden Claiming: $12,500. Purse: $9,250

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

1: High Chance Jess (Golibrzuch, Miller)124/6-1

2: Prima Fire (Shepherd, Johnson)124/6-1

3: Minnieapple Lips (Luark, Harris)124/7-2

4: James the King (Swiontek, Livingston)124/3-1

5: Unafraid (Richard, McKinley)124/6-1

6: Pyc N Black (Pinon, Hardy)124/2-1

PYC N BLACK might have found the ideal field to break his maiden in ninth attempt. JAMES THE KING dueled but was outfinished in the slop last out, settling for show money. HIGH CHANCE JESS bumpy start took him out of the race and looks to improve with clean start today.

2 300 Yards. State-bred. Open. 2-Year-Olds. Purse: $13,000

1: Streak N Diamonds (Ruiz, Haglund)122/6-1

8: Eyra Hayes (Swiontek, Livingston)122/5-1

9: Moon Me Chick (Pinon, Hardy)122/7-2

Trainer Robert Johnson sends out newcomers MISS FLY BYE and I AM THE DOCTOR, who look to be set today with some quick prep works. CHICK FIGHT is another first-time starter with an encouraging work tab.

3 6 Furlongs. Fillies and Mares. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming: $4,000. Purse: $10,000

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

1: De Lica (Goncalves, Scherbenske)123/8-1

2: Cassidilly (Murphy, Bera)123/5-1

3: Secret of Success (Vergara, Silva)123/1-1

4: Golden Road (P. Canchari, L. Canchari)123/7-2

5: Shimai (Shepherd, Hawley)123/10-1

6: Our Black Beauty (Richard, Holder)123/15-1

7: Stand Up Rita (Joubert, Hanson)123/10-1

SECRET OF SUCCESS could prove tough favorite to beat while controlling speed up front with others in pursuit. DQ'd last out for the win after lugging in late. My favorite angle in coming right back to get the victory. GOLDEN ROAD cuts back in distance with decent numbers but has tough assignment rolling late with lack of pace. DE LICA was no threat in her local debut last out but will give another chance with hot jockey Goncalves aboard.

4 6 Furlongs. Fillies and Mares. 3-year-olds and up. Purse: $28,000

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

1: Include Catherine (Goncalves, Heitzmann)119/5-1

2: Runaway Money (Carreno, Bravo)123/9-2

3: Bella Luz (Vergara, Silva)119/10-1

4: Belleoftheprairie (Butler, Silva)119/4-1

5: Summer Swing (Sanchez, Padilla)123/6-1

6: A Kit Kat Girl (Joubert, Hanson)119/12-1

7: Bella Izabella (Velazquez, Biehler)119/3-1

8: Madison Mayhem (Hernandez, Brinson)119/6-1

Good betting race with many ways to go. BELLA IZABELLA just missed last effort off the long layoff and should appreciate the extra furlong today with her strong middle move. BELLEOFTHEPRAIRIE finished right behind top selection with late rally, figures to keep improving and main threat to fend off. RUNAWAY MONEY has been making a living scoring with the consolation money and is a must use underneath.

5 5 Furlongs. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming: $7,500. Purse: $14,500

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

1: Thecausewaykid (Butler, Rhone)119/6-1

2: Stig's Deputy (Sanchez, Perez)119/9-2

3: So Contagious (Vergara, Anderson)119/15-1

4: Gamblin Jack (Escobar, Brinson)119/3-1

5: Hard Nosed (Delorme, Riecken)119/10-1

6: Fire Game (Fackler, Turco)119/8-1

7: Wildcat Moon (Becerra, LaVanway)119/8-1

8: Unlawful Detainer (Goncalves, Silva)119/7-2

9: He's a Rockstar (Murphy, Anderson)119/10-1

UNLAWFUL DETAINER is entitled to move forward if he can transfer the last dazzling performance on the dirt to the turf. Will leave others behind if can duplicate. WILDCAT MOON was way over his head last out in stakes race and should enjoy the plunge in class with good early speed. STIG'S DEPUTY can win this race with reprise of turf effort two back, where the 11 year old set a turf sprint record at Hawthorne.

6 6 Furlongs. State-bred. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Purse: $38,500

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

1: Appeal to the King (Joubert, Hanson)119/12-1

2: Vanderbilt Beach (Sanchez, Rengstorf)123/3-1

3: L G Suprem (Carreno, Fauchald)119/15-1

4: Finlander (Velazquez, Sweere)119/4-1

5: Sonny Money (Vergara, Silva)119/5-1

6: Hold for More (Butler, Bravo)115/2-1

7: Shangrila Bar (Lopez, Jr., Riecken)119/6-1

HOLD FOR MORE won the Northern Lights Futurity here last August and looks to be training lights-out for this year's debut. VANDERBILT BEACH came on with a late surge to get the win last out while overcoming adversity down the stretch. SHANGRILA BAR gave a dull effort to start the season two weeks back but has fighting chance if regains last year's form.

7 6 Furlongs. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming: $20,000. Purse: $19,000

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

1: Money Tree (P. Canchari, O'Callaghan)123/10-1

2: Brother Stachys (Velazquez, Biehler)123/8-1

3: Flying Frank (Sanchez, Padilla)119/9-2

4: Financial Freedom (Shepherd, Padilla)123/4-1

5: Shakin Schiller (Reid, McFarlane)119/8-1

6: Ladron (Butler, Bravo)119/10-1

7: Mr. Megatron (Joubert, Hanson)119/15-1

8: Classic Blaze (Goncalves, Amoss)119/2-1

9: Don't Claim Me (Murphy, Bolinger)123/12-1

Trainer Tim Padilla is sending out a couple of live ones in FLYING FRANK and FINACIAL FREEDOM. I actually prefer Flying Frank on the drop, and I think we'll get a slightly better price. CLASSIC BLAZE showed consistent speed in turf sprint last out but stayed in holding pattern as the heavy favorite and had to settle for place honors. Turf to dirt is a strong angle for trainer Tom Amoss.

8 1 Mile. Fillies and Mares. 3-year-olds and up. Purse: $75,000

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

PP: Horse (Jockey, Trainer)Wt./Odds

1: Ros's Girl (Franco, Lund)116/12-1

2: Fine Assay (Velazquez, Scherer)118/6-1

3: Stoupinator (Butler, Robertson)116/7-2

4: Kiss to Remember (Goncalves, Amoss)118/4-1

5: Zipso Facto (Sanchez, Granitz)116/8-1

6: Star's Woman (Hernandez, McFarlane)113/10-1

7: Awesome Flower (Allen, Jr., Maker)120/5-2

8: Notte d'Oro (Garcia, Stidham)120/6-1

AWESOME FLOWER is dependable and devoted to the Ramsey family and is stamped in as my top choice in the HBPA Distaff. This 6-year-old mare is solid on any surface in case showers knock the race off the lawn. KISS TO REMEMBER fought all the way to the end in a heated pace battle in her Canterbury debut last out. Expect to see her on the lead again but at much more reasonable fractions. STOUPINATOR overtook Kiss To Remember to win that last race while taking advantage of the scalding pace to come flying late. NOTTE d' ORO merits respect on class alone and winner of a stake race earlier this year.

9 1 Mile. Open. 3-year-olds and up. Purse: $75,000

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

PP: Horse (Jockey, Trainer)Wt./Odds

1: Honor the Kitten (Allen, Jr., Maker)120/7-2

2: Castlederg (Velazquez, Scherer)116/12-1

3: Az Ridge (Franco, McFarlane)118/5-1

4: Magic D' Oro (Richard, Rarick)116/8-1

5: El Seventyseven (Goncalves, Robertson)116/2-1

6: Number Five (P. Canchari, O'Callaghan)116/10-1

7: D'cajun Cat (Murphy, Asmussen)116/6-1

8: Indy Awesome (Escobar, Brinson)116/10-1

9: Speed Is Life (Vergara, Oliver)118/20-1

EL SEVENTYSEVEN is searching for fourth consecutive win and was mighty impressive last out to start his 2015 campaign. Seems to be screaming for more yardage, so adding three furlongs from his regular distance shouldn't cause concern. HONOR THE KITTEN too goes for four in a row for the Ramsey stable and brings in one of my favorite jocks in Ronnie Allen Jr to ride. AZ RIDGE is tried-and-true with multiple stake wins.Just think he prefers longer. D'CAJUN CAT is a must use for trainer Steve Asmussen.

10 6 Furlongs. Fillies and Mares. 3-year-olds and up. Claiming: $6,250. Purse: $11,500

#: Horse, Jockey, TrainerWt./Odds

1: Misty Grove (Murphy, Dunlap)123/12-1

2: Nothing But Me (Keith, Biehler)123/6-1

3: Spell Winder (Goncalves, Berndt)119/9-5

4: Im a Southern Diva (Velazquez, Brinson)123/2-1

5: Spinning Slew (Lopez, Jr., Fisher)123/20-1

6: Meloveda (Swiontek, Bends)123/8-1

7: Bella Parvati (P. Canchari, L. Canchari)123/20-1

8: Kati Can (Franco, Padilla)123/10-1

In what could be a two-horse race to end the day, I'll give the edge to SPELL WINDER with dropping for half the price and decent tactical speed to carry her down the stretch with the lead. I'M A SOUTHERN DIVA is the main threat coming off the pace and is a regular moneymaker. KATI CAN returns off the six-month winter vacation and is training well for trainer Padilla. Could hook up early with top pick.
