RACE 4: JUVENILE SPRINT

SUPER NINETY NINE won his lone start in a slugfest down the stretch at seven furlongs drawing away from the field. Runner-up that race came back to win impressively next time out. Trainer Baffert won this race last year with lightly raced Secret Circle. MERIT MAN is unbeaten in two starts and should be the post-time favorite. Has the best speed figure in the field and is coming out of a live heat, winning by five lengths. SWEET SHIRLEY MAE will be tackling the boys and will need a total collapse up front in closing to win.

RACE 5: MARATHON

WORTH REPEATING gets the slight nod in this wide-open race. Should be sitting right off a probable quick pace and has won at this 1 1/2-mile distance at this track with Pedroza aboard. NOT ABROAD is coming off a big victory in the Maryland Million Classic running shorter but was full of run past the finish line, so stretching out today will not be a problem. ATIGUN ran a strong third in the Belmont Stakes. Euro invader FAME AND GLORY could prove tough if he handles dirt for the first time.

RACE 6: JUVENILE FILLIES TURF

SPRING VENTURE is 3-for-3 coming from the Woodbine track, and Woodbine runners have done extremely well in this race the past two years. Her last effort on the lawn was her most impressive, as she gathered the field up quickly after zig-zagging through major traffic congestion. Irish bred filly SKY LANTERN has done no worse than second in her five starts. WATSDACHANCES is another Irish bred who has two victories coming in today for hot trainer Chad Brown. WATERWAY RUN is 3-for-4 in turf starts in England.

RACE 7: GREY GOOSE JUVENILE FILLIES

EXECUTIVEPRIVILEGE should be tough and will try to make it six in a row today. Concern could be hooking up in a speed duel with speedster BEHOLDER but did beat Beholder two back at seven furlongs. Her last victory was at this distance by mor than six lengths. Beholder ran a 108 Beyer speed figure her last time out in a sprint, but that might be what she is best at. She has yet to make two turns in a race. SPRING IN THE AIR is my closer of choice to upset in case the top two get wobbly legs down the stretch.

RACE 8: FILLY AND MARE TURF

European import THE FUGUE will be flying late on a course that should suit her perfectly for a trainer that has four Cup victories. Might not get the contested fractions up front she would like to close on but she doesn't need it. Another Euro invader, RIDASIYNA, has four victories in five starts and might prefer some moisture on the grass, where she does her best running. MARKETING MIX is the strongest of the American runners. The versatile filly can sit anywhere in the pack and pounce while having home-turf advantage.

RACE 9: LADIES CLASSIC

AWESOME FEATHER is 10-for-10 and keeps improving each race on a variety of tracks even after an eight-month layoff resting from a tendon injury. Have to love that she has consecutive triple-digit Beyer speed figures and is training extremely well. The favorite, ROYAL DELTA, is going to be tough to beat. She won this race last year running four-wide and now seems to be stronger. A slight concern is she might have peaked and could be vulnerable for the upset. LOVE AND PRIDE could shock if she refrains from dueling up front and sits off the pace coming from the outside post.
