Jimmy Butler named to 35-player pool for USA Basketball men's national team

The official 12-player team that will play in the 2019 World Cup and the 2020 Olympic games will likely come from this group of players.

Wolves guard Jimmy Butler is among the 35-player pool for the 2018-20 men's national team named by USA Basketball.The list was announced Friday by national team managing director Jerry Colangelo. The players are expected to take part in a national team mini-camp July 25-27 in Las Vegas.

The official 12-player team that will play in the 2019 World Cup and the 2020 Olympic games will likely come from this group of players.

The 28-year-old Butler – who could make his return with the Wolves tonight after missing 17 games recovering from right knee surgery – was a member of the men's team that won gold in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
