Hughes' MRI checks out. Waiting for four more to report

Some players are moving a little slow this morning as Day 4 of camp begins

After taking a look at the MRI of Luke Hughes' right shoulder, noted specialist Dr. Lewis Yocum didn't find any red flags, just inflammation. So indications are that Hughes will receive a cortisone shot, rest a couple of days then start some activities.

With the first full squad workout scheduled for Friday, the last thing Hughes wants is to be behind the other position players in camp. He has a good chance of making the team out of camp can't afford any setbacks.

Still no sign of Justin Morneau, Josh Willingham,. Oswaldo Arcia or Sean Burroughs. But, report day isn't until tomorrow.

``Four out of 66 is pretty good," Twins GM Terry Ryan said. ``Can't ask for much better than that, actually. There isn't concern about any of those guys. The only guy I have not talked to is Arcia, but I haven't been notified there are any problems, so we should be in pretty good shape."

As I write this, Kyle Gibson, out for the year following Tommy John surgery, is leading a handful of minor leaguers on a run up and down the steps of Hammond Stadium.

And, since I started this mess a few weeks ago, check out the Scouting Book's ranking of the top Twins prospects.
