Units: 72

Developer: Saint Benedict's Senior Community

Architect: RSP Architects

Details: Saint Benedict's Senior Community, the nonprofit senior housing development arm of St. Cloud-based healthcare provider CentraCare, opened a 72-unit community in Sartell, a project touted as setting a new standard for incorporating wellness concepts into senior housing.

Chateau Waters opened in August following an 18-month build out. Designed by RSP Architects and constructed by Welsh Companies, the effort was financed as part of a $128.3 million conduit revenue bond issued through the city of St. Cloud. About $15 million of the total was for the Sartell project.

CentraCare, owner of St. Cloud Hospital, said the project is unique in several ways, including its centerpiece — an expansive spa and wellness center boasting "the latest in health, relaxation, beauty and fitness." A design emphasis was placed on spaces devoted to hobbies such as gardening, walking and cooking, as well as encouraging socializing with friends and family.

The wellness program incorporates an indoor pool, a putting green and pickleball court.

Other amenities include waterfront rooms with outdoor access, a "stargazing area," personal-fitness programs staffed by "specially trained professionals," fire pits and grilling areas, a theater, bistro and media center.

Some say the MAHA movement and GLP-1 drugs hurt sugar beet farmers. The White House is blaming former President Joe Biden.
