"Ghost in the Shell" arguably works best for those who haven't seen the legendary Japanese animé upon which it's based.
Scarlett Johansson stars as a police operative with a human brain in an artificial body. As she becomes engrossed in the hunt for a cyberterrorist, she begins to question the true story of her existence. It's part-"RoboCop," part-"Blade Runner," part-"I, Robot" and all visually stunning.
Knocked by many film critics when it played in theaters, this one's definitely worth a look on home video.
Extras on Tuesday's Blu-ray release include a few making-of featurettes.
Also coming Tuesday
• "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" (Blu-ray)
• "Black Butterfly"
• "The Boss Baby"
• "Gifted"
• "Unforgettable"
