Hawks go 4-for-4 against Stars • CHICAGO 3, DALLAS 1: Patrick Kane scored his fourth goal against Dallas this season, helping the Blackhawks complete a season sweep of the Stars on Saturday, in Dallas. Kane also had four assists against Dallas this season. Defensemen Matt Walker and James Wisniewski also scored for the Blackhawks, who outscored the Stars 20-8 in their four meetings this season. Cristobal Huet seemed headed for his second consecutive shutout before Steve Ott scored on a breakaway with 8:29 remaining. "Every year you have one team who you can't get points against," Stars defenseman Darryl Sydor said. "It's frustrating. But you have to swallow that pill and move on."

• PITTSBURGH 5, PHILADELPHIA 4: Sidney Crosby had two goals and two assists, leading the Penguins to their first road victory in nearly six weeks, in front of the largest regular-season crowd in Flyers history (19,992). Crosby got a gift goal with 2:45 left when Flyers goalie Martin Biron failed to secure the puck when he drifted out toward the hash marks to make a stop. Crosby was there when the puck came loose and he poked it into the empty net for his 23rd goal and 23rd career two-goal game. Mike Richards scored a short-handed goal for the third game in a row for Philadelphia.

• PHOENIX 6, LOS ANGELES 3: Olli Jokinen scored twice in the second period against his former teams, then added an empty-netter for his sixth career hat trick for the Coyotes in Los Angeles. Viktor Tikhonov had a goal and an assist for the Coyotes, who posted back-to-back victories for the first time since Jan. 15-17. Alexander Frolov, Dustin Brown and Derek Armstrong scored for the Kings, who have lost four in a row at home

• SAN JOSE 3, ATLANTA 1: Jeremy Roenick picked up his 700th career assist in his return from a 10-week injury absence, and Ryane Clowe broke a scoreless tie 30 seconds into the third period of the Sharks' victory over the Thrashers. Evgeni Nabokov made 22 saves for the Sharks, who set a franchise record with their NHL-best 26th home victory this season. Bryan Little scored during a 5-on-3 advantage for the Thrashers, who lost in regulation for the first time on their four-game road trip. Little scored at every stop on the road swing.

• MONTREAL 5, OTTAWA 3: Alex Kovalev returned to the Canadiens' lineup and had a goal and two assists in a victory over the visiting Senators. Kovalev, who skipped Montreal's last two games on the road at general manager Bob Gainey's request, drew an ovation after he set up Tomas Plekanec's power-play goal 2:23 in. The Russian right winger got an even bigger cheer when he scored an unassisted goal at 5:38. Canadiens goalie Jaroslav Halak made 44 saves.

notes

• The NHL suspended Kings defenseman Denis Gauthier for two games, stemming from a confrontation late in Thursday's loss to the Sharks, in which Gauthier ran Sharks forward Patrick Marleau into the boards on an icing play.

• The Columbus Blue Jackets claimed center Chris Gratton off waivers from the Tampa Bay Lightning. It also placed defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen on injured reserve and recalled defenseman Aaron Rome from its AHL affiliate.
