If you live in Minnesota, chances are good that your local hospital is a nonprofit organization required to provide community benefits like free or discounted care for lower-income residents in need of financial assistance.
But it can be difficult to find and apply for these programs. And once medical bills exist, hospitals can take wide-ranging approaches to collect on that debt.
Have you or someone in your family tried to use a hospital’s free or discounted care policies? Do you or someone you know struggle with medical debt? The Minnesota Star Tribune wants to hear about it.
