They shot 52.7 percent from the floor, turned the ball over only six times, fouled only 13 times and outrebounded the Tigers 31-25, the first rebound battle the Gophers have won this season. Freshman forward Jordan Murphy notched his first double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.
South Dakota at a glance: Four players average at least 10.6 points on a veteran squad boasting five seniors. Casey Kasperbauer, a 6-1 guard, leads the Coyotes (4-3) with 14.1 points a game, and fellow senior Tre Burnette averages 12.7 points and 8.1 rebounds in the frontcourt. He’s ranked 35th nationally in defensive rebounds per game. But overall, the Coyotes defense is one of the worst in Division I: It ranks 319th nationally in defensive efficiency, per analyst Ken Pomeroy.
