Defenseman Mark Alt's goal at 3 minutes, 30 seconds of the third period was the game-winner as the Gophers beat Michigan Tech 6-2 on Saturday at Mariucci Arena for a split of their series.
The Huskies won the first game 3-2 in overtime.
Alt's goal gave the No. 2 Gophers a 3-2 lead. Midway through the final period Nick Bjugstad scored his 16th goal of the season and Joey Miller his first -- just over two minutes apart -- to make it 5-2 Gophers. Jake Hansen added a late power play goal for the Gophers.
