Gophers final pre-76 Classic tuneup against Utah Valley tonight

The Gophers still have a lot to learn about themselves, entering tonight's matchup against Utah Valley.

What's up, Gophers fans?

Before I get into tonight's Utah Valley (1-1) v. Minnesota (2-0) matchup, a team source told me that Lawrence Westbrook is sick today and his status is unknown for tonight's game.

Earlier this week, Devoe Joseph and Devron Bostick dealt with with flu bugs. Sounds like something might be going around.

The Gophers will likely breeze past Utah Valley, a team that's making its debut as an official Division I program this year. But it's still a significant game.

Tubby Smith is still working out his rotation prior to next week's matchup against No. 11 Butler in the 76 Classic.

There's a lot to gain tonight for Rodney Williams, Paul Carter and Devoe Joseph, while Smith continues to play around with various lineups.

I could see the Gophers taking this starting lineup into next week's 76 Classic: G Al Nolen, G Lawrence Westbrook, F Paul Carter, F Damian Johnson and C Ralph Sampson III.

But what if Joseph continues to shine on offense? Maybe, we'll see this starting lineup: G Al Nolen, G Lawrence Westbrook, G Devoe Joseph, F Damian Johnson and C Ralph Sampson III.

And I'm not going to rule out this one, either: G Al Nolen, G Lawrence Westbrook, F Rodney Williams, F Damian Johnson and C Ralph Sampson III.

Prediction: Minnesota 99, Utah Valley 65
