Be prepared

If your trek leads to a brewery, so be it. This adjustable single-strap growler carrier from Duluth's Frost River makes it easy to stop for a refill. Made from waxed canvas with a foam lining, it provides insulation for the trip home. Bonus: The growler top sticks out just far enough so you can pour right from the carrier. $80, frostriver.com

Helping hand

Be the talk of the trail with a handcrafted, custom walking stick from Climbing Monkeys. The small, family-run shop from Bigfork, Minn., will cut one of their polished diamond willow sticks to length, add rope handles, wrist straps, grips — you name it. Want it engraved? They'll do that, too. $74-$285, search for ClimbingMonkeys (no space) on etsy.com.

Throwing shade

Protect your eyes while protecting your sense of style. Minneapolis-based Eyebobs has been helping people see clearly for 20 years with all sorts of eyeglasses. Its sunglasses are available in many styles with several lens options. If you can't decide, book an in-person or virtual session with a personal stylist. From $59, eyebobs.com, with locations at Mall of America, Ridgedale Center, and 1401 Glenwood Av., Mpls.

Thirst quencher

Stay hydrated while staying sustainable. The Kodiak water bottle is part of Northern Glasses' collection designed to help customers reduce their footprint. An arm of Minneapolis-based Fight for Something, Northern Glasses also donates 7% of its glassware sales to bring safe water to developing nations. $16, northernglasses.com or at Minnesota Strong in Ridgedale Center.

Safe keeping

No one wants to bring bulky purses or wallets on the trail. Granite Gear in Two Harbors, Minn., has a lightweight solution in its satchel and hiker wallet. The roomy satchel, shown in the popular Moonlight Paddle pattern, can be worn cross-body or over the shoulder. The petite hiker wallet has room for cash, a card and a key. (Both are made from polyester.) Satchel $20, wallet $11, granitegear.com.
