When I saw my first picture of a rain garden, I wasn't enthusiastic about some kidney-shaped planting, randomly placed in my yard. However, our architect, Michael Huber, designed beautiful geometric concrete-framed flower beds that would work as rain gardens while blending with our home's design.

Today the concrete forms were removed and we got our first glimpse. The plywood sheeting that formed the sides created texture in the concrete and the open overflow spout that was built into the mouth of the design looks incredible. Fred Lutz, our main concrete guy, took photos of the work and will return to take more when planting is completed.
