Preview: The United (3-2-3) travels to Al Lang Stadium in St. Petersburg, Fla., to face Tampa Bay (2-5-1) on Saturday night in a meeting of teams going in opposite directions in the North American Soccer League fall season. Minnesota and Tampa Bay played to a scoreless draw in the second week of the spring season.

United FC at a glance: Minnesota is fresh off a dramatic 2-1 victory at Ottawa, the top team in the fall season standings. Daniel Mendes, a second-half substitute, buried a free kick with only one minute left in extra time. Christian Ramirez opened the scoring by notching his seventh goal in as many matches. With a goal on Saturday, Ramirez will tie the league’s record for scoring in consecutive games.

Tampa Bay at a glance: A dreadful start to the fall season led the Rowdies to clean house Friday. The team parted ways with president and general manager Farrukh Quraishi and coach Thomas Rongen. Rowdies principal owner Bill Edwards said in a statement, “I wish both Farrukh and Thomas well, but it was clear the team was not performing at the level they should be and could be.” No replacement coach was named. On the field, Bulgarian midfielder Georgie Hristov leads the league with seven assists.
