Lynx update: After one of the more disconcerting losses of the season Tuesday, 71-63 at home to Los Angeles, the Lynx get a crack at another team almost certain to make the playoffs and a possible first-round opponent. Only Maya Moore (20 points) scored in double figures against the Stars. Moore has 773 points, the third-highest single-season total in league history. She is averaging 24.4 points in five August games.

Stars update: San Antonio has been off since Sunday, when the Stars (14-18) ended a four-game losing streak with a home victory over Los Angeles. The Stars are fourth in the Western Conference, one game behind L.A. If the Stars tie the Sparks, they would be the higher seed — and play the Lynx — thanks to their 3-1 record vs. L.A. this season. San Antonio is 0-4 vs. Minnesota. F Kayla McBride and G Danielle Robinson have both averaged 11.8 points vs. the Lynx this season. F/C Danielle Adams exhibited concussion-type symptoms after taking a first-quarter charge Sunday. She is questionable.

The WNBA and its players' union weren't able to agree to a new collective bargaining agreement by the Friday night deadline, and now the league enters a ''status-quo'' period with no new extension reached.
