Tom Tiller, former CEO of Polaris Industries Inc., has accepted the top job with a solar energy company founded in 2007.

Abound Solar, which is based in Colorado, announced Thursday that Tiller will become CEO in January.

In a prepared statement, Tiller said the company is "positioned to leverage its proprietary manufacturing technology in reducing the cost of solar power."

Tiller joined Medina-based Polaris, which makes snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles, in July 1998.

Tiller became chief executive in May 1999 and served in that post until Scott Wine succeeded him in September 2008.
