Wolves injured point guard Jonny Flynn is scheduled to return to his Vail, Colo., surgeon for a checkup Wednesday on his left hip, which was repaired there in late July.
He hopes to be clear to run and jump after that checkup, a development that could get him back on the floor playing regular-season games sometime in November.
"I'm very anxious, it's a tough injury to gauge," Flynn said at the Wolves shootaround this morning at the Carrier Dome where Flynn played his two seasons of college ball. "I'm going to meet with the surgeons and see what they have to say and then we're going to carry on from there.
"Of course, I'm definitely going to come back better than ever from this because I won't be hurt anymore. Playing the season injured is a tough time to do. You ask any player. I'm just happy to get this done and be out there to move freely without any hesitation.
"I can't wait."
Of course, Flynn won't play tonight against Detroit here in Syracuse, but rookie Wesley Johnson will.
By the way he was leaping this morning, he looks like he'll be ready to play, too.
He'll start tonight in his return to the Carrier Dome, where his other teammates got their first look at a basket court stuck at one end of the big football stadium.
