A slow-starting Final Four title game between Virginia and Texas Tech had effort outpacing scoring for the first several minutes. But later … shots fell, intensity rose and defense remained as fierce as ever. Hard to argue that anyone wanted it more than guard Brandone Francis, top, who rallied the Red Raiders late on the way to a team-best 17 points. But it was Virginia and guard Kyle Guy, left, who tried to save a valuable possession with a timeout late in regulation, that commanded the pace and shored up its resolve in overtime, earning a chance to dance under the confetti at U.S. Bank Stadium as first-time champions.
