Every Minnesota minor league affiliate is now in Iowa, it seems

Good times

It started in September of 2012, with the Twins' official announcement that its low-Class A affiliate would be moving from Beloit, Wis., to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Then, this April, the Wild announced it was moving its AHL affiliate from Houston to Des Moines. And now, today, the Timberwolves announced their D-League affiliate is shifting from Sioux Falls to Des Moines.

Questions:

*What's up with this?

*Is everyone in both states OK with the major/minor arrangement we have going on here?

*Anyone want to start organizing (as soon as the full schedules come out) a weekend in Iowa to see both the Iowa Wild and the Iowa Energy? We're imagining such a thing is possible, even if they are sharing a building in Des Moines.
