Cardinals score first in day's most competitive quarterfinal

Alexandria's Claire Illies scored her sixth goal this season on a backhand shot that got past Faribault goaltender Hannah Seitz's glove at 4:58 of the second period.

Seitz made several big stops later in the period, including a pad save on a one-timer from Alexandria's Allyson Nielsen.
